newbie, webby

being a technical support agent is not really a scary jump from pursuing a writing career. if at all, it set off my growing intimate relationship with the virtual world. it is now my ego booster. it reacquainted ME.
i am an outsource webhosting agent. i troubleshoot techie and not-so techie stuff for people based in the good US of A. domain names, emails, websites, as well as talk BS, endure customer's BS, play coy and mute. name it. i am absurdly doing it.
but, i was a newbie. i never knew a thing about webhosting when i left my writing job. for a month, i was groping in the dark. i had to refresh my memory on how it was to study. study rigorously. shun invites from friends. look geeky. be cocky.
how it happened? beats me. but wait. i remember what the book, "the purpose driven life," has taught me (i never really get to finish the book, i even violated the covenant in its first few pages). we all have different drives to reach a certain goal. mine was a mix of selfish and unselfish motivations. and to reach all these, i worked like a horse. to be honest, i feel like what most comsci students learn in four years, i did it in 30 days. talk about hitting two birds with a single stone.
